A man, a bridge, and his boxes
A man had three boxes, and each box weighted 5 pounds. The man’s weight was 190 pounds, but the bridge could only support 200.

An ancient Chinese riddle that finds an analogy between the bridge and life. The boxes hold our feelings; our joy, our love, our pain, and our grief. We all cross this bridge with more weight than we can bear, so sometimes… we juggle; we balance our life.
The journey along the bridge goes sooner than we can only dream up. All through this journey, the distractions in our life keep us from crossing over. It is only when a part of us is weakening, when we lose focus on catching one box, that we see the truth of the situation and feel that our bridge could collapse in the next few steps.
We believe we can handle it, and we don’t understand that by thinking that, we lose the heart on what’s essential. We juggle, and yes, occasionally we fail, but we know sometimes is not too late to start over, to learn from our earlier attempts. And in my understanding, that’s what being is all about…
